I can't even explain how much I love each and every one of these characters...Ms. Casey does a bang up job of development and imaginary descriptions of a fantasy realm.

The humor and the seriousness of these stories intermingle so well that you don't even realize that your emotions are going into hyperdrive.

I am a bit disappointed with Chase...but you would have to read to figure out why.

One word of caution though...if you start this series, plan on a few days of doing nothing but reading. That's how addictive this series is.

I just finished and I must say that it was definitely worth the wait this summer for this book. I love all the action and the twists and turns and the way that Elle makes you squirm trying to figure out what's next or squirm yelling at Jayne to figure it out or ask the right questions. I laughed so hard at the newest addition to the pixies Willy he is already a character just like Tim! I discovered the previous series after all the books were already out so I now will have to bide my time for the next in this one. Since it doesn't happen all the time I am so happy to have read another book that I did not want to put down until it was done by Elle Casey! Total Awesomeness!

I really wanted to award four stars. The story is progressing well & I'm fully invested in seeing this series to it's conclusion. My only complaint remains with the far too numerous grammatical & editing errors.

This is book 5 in the changeling series, but for some inexplicable reason, the author is calling it book 1 of a different series. The book is full of meetings. Elle Casey uses "meetings" so often as a plot device that I wonder if she's Quaker. All problems can be solved in meetings in this series. I think she uses it as a writing crutch. She definitely went overboard with it in this book.

Meetings, meetings, meetings. Bleh! I still like the characters, and I enjoyed Janie getting drunk with the dragon spirits. I also like her meeting the friendly vampire and his angel lady love. The premise of this "series" is that the gray is failing and if the fae don't repair it, demons and angels will roam the earth freely. Since demons like to eat people, that's a bit of a problem.

man, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard reading a book before. Jayne and Tim, love them to death. seriously, their dialogue could not get any better. and this book seem to suggest some sort of a deeper love connection between Spike and Jayne, which I must admit I much prefer that to she and Ben. No offense to fans of Ben, he just seems a tad shady to me. The only thing that was missing from this book, and I probably won't get of my soapbox about, is Chase. I miss him, and I miss his and Jayne's relationship, whether it be romantic, friendship, guardianship or any kind of ship. I just need them together. as always, this series is amazing and I'm looking forward to what comes next :)

Didn't like this book as much as the last book. Jayne was such an idiot/douchebag with Ben. The start was a complete U-turn from the progress they made in the last book. Don't see why guys are crazy for her... she doesn't deserve it half the time! Fine she does her hugging/affection thing and is crazy loyal, but she can still be so annoying and immature.

I liked the book but looking at all the 5.0 ratings was rather surprised. I won't go into a description of the book since that's been done but rather why I gave it 3 stars. First, the book just ends. It is clear to me that this book and the two following books should all be one novel, as it just stops abruptly. Clearly a ploy to get paid for three books instead of 1 or 2.

Second, the plot will be moving along with lots of action when she stops to gather everyone together and talk about what happened. Too much time spent talking and meeting and not enough action.

Finally, and this is a spoiler, in the middle of a fight she starts making out with a demon, who she knows is a demon, while her friends and allies are dying???

It was pretty funny and entertaining as were the other Changelings.
This book starts right after the last one of the Changelings and is pretty much the same: big cliffy, no development in characters, Tim being funny, Jayne being childish but funny too... alot of meetings and conversations during the book and more revealed at the last 10%
Why on earth is this series so addictive?! lol

Come on Ben, make me like you!!!

Jayne is insane. Insanity is making the same mistake or doing the same action and expecting a different result. I'm starting to get annoyed with this series. I like Tim and the humor, but I hate the Jayne has yet to develop as a character. She continues to make bad decisions even after she gets upset that she fucks up constantly. Guess what. You can change that. Listen to the people around you. She always complains about not knowing enough and being in the dark. If she listened to people she would have more information and then make less mistakes. I've started this series again after about a year. The first books I really enjoy. Every character makes mistakes and needs to learn about their world, but Casey cannot continue that story line. Characters need to develop and mature and learn from their mistakes. If they don't, what's the point?

Pixie awesome

Half way through the series and absolutely loving it! The characters are quirky and fun and the plot twists very cleverly woven in! It’s truly like being on the journey with them! I’ve loved several of Elle’s books but these are by far the best! Real laugh out loud stuff. I’m so pleased I came to find them when the services was all written because the cliff hangers are of epic proportions! Now excuse me ladies and gentle fae I’ve got the next book to read ;-)

I find myself having a tough time reviewing books that come from a series. I feel limited in the sense that it's harder to not provide spoilers. Like me being particularly emotional in Bella and Edwards wedding from Breaking Dawn and writing something to that effect. For someone who has read Eclipse they are already expecting this. However this will be a total spoiler for those who have only read Twilight or New Moon. Uhum... So I hope you understand my dilemma and my usual hope of not providing spoilers. Which for those of you who are unaware is why I tend to keep reviews about sequels short. However, I'll admit I can't help myself on this one. Those of you who have yet to finish reading the War of the Fae series or don't enjoy **SPOILERS**, stop here. You have been warned.

After the Fall is a pretty intense book. The pace is fast, the action is intense and it is hilariously funny. I truly think that I would have ended up in a mental institution had I read this book in front of anyone outside of my family. I looked absolutely crazy with my wild reactions, burst of laughter and in my general excitement over this book. Good thing my family is used to me turning into a madman when there is a book in my hands... ;)

Review from Elysian Fields Book Reviews.

Synopsis

The setting opens up almost exactly where the final book of the War of the Fae Series ends. Ben and Jayne have just been bonded, to save the entire Fae race from the inevitable invasion of demons from the Otherworld. They are both powerful elementals, and together, they control all four of the elements; earth, fire, water, and air. It is only with them together, the Mother and Father, that the demons can be stopped, saving both the Fae race and the humans as well. The Light Fae and the Dark Fae are now living together, working together to help prevent the inevitable. The Gray is falling, and until they can find the tear between the worlds, demons will continue to enter the Earth plane. Jayne is now part of the Council that makes the decisions for all of the Fae, but she is still young and clueless. With the help of her friends, old ones and new Dark Fae that she never thought she could like, can she stop the demons before the world burns?

My Thoughts

After the Fall began exactly where New World Order ended, which I was ridiculously excited about. I hated how the War of the Fae Series ended, with Ben and Jayne in a bonding ceremony- basically getting married. This book was kind of slower than the previous installments, with more "meetings" between the council than actual action. Tim, as always, is one of the funniest book characters that I have had the pleasure of reading. Now that his wife and baby are living with Jayne, the humor only intensifies. I found myself with tears rolling down my face when the baby pixie stuck pollen balls up Jayne's nose and she sneezed them out in front of everyone. The addition of Garrett- a vampire from the Underworld and Shayla- an angel of the Overworld was a welcome surprise as well. I am enjoying the new characters that were added in this series, but I'm hoping the next couple books have a lot more action than this one did. I have a feeling Ben is going to turn out to be a demon, trying to impregnate Jayne to fulfill the prophecy. And it looks like Spike and Jayne may end up together after all. Sigh. Chase was mentioned a few times, but no appearance of the Guardian Angel yet. All in all, this book was well written, the characters, as always Elle Casey, are fantabulous. I recommend reading the War of the Fae Series before diving into this one, as the characters are mostly the same and the plot line follows.

Excerpt from the Book

I loved the War of the Fae series, but wanted more. So I have been waiting impatiently for this series to start..it was worth the wait!! But now I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book. I tried to pace myself but ended up reading completely in about a 5 hour time span.

Jayne is back with just as much if not more attitude...She had to say good bye to Chase and I was sad about that, but just as I am ready to embrace Ben--Jayne is not. Jayne is still flying by the seat of her pants and jumping first..asking questions later...questions that rarely get remembered to ask or answered. Jayne is now bonded to Ben and they need to take on a huge challenge bring the Light and Dark fae back together after many hundreds of years of fighting and separation, keep the demons out of the here and now and figure out if they are really meant to be together forever. Jayne is now rooming with a smart aleck pixie and his wife add in a hyperactive baby pixie that seems to get into as much trouble as Jayne does. It is hilarious and action packed. If you did not read the first series (you missed out), but there is enough information in the first one third of the book to get you pretty caught up on the main stuff from the first series. After that Jayne's misdeeds? maybe or actions that need to happen, start racking up and she is going from one crisis to the next one and trying to fix them before all the elders find out.

I don't want to give away too many spoilers, but if you like a fierce, charge forward (even if you don't know what the possible consequences could be), loyal, smart aleck heroine who tries to keep all her friends safe while being in the dark most of the time, you will love Jayne. I believe that Ben is on her side and is crazy about her, but she doesn't believe it and does not completely trust him. I really hate love triangles for the sake of love triangles so I was hoping that Jayne and Ben would start working through their issues to be a power couple, but it looks like Chase is still a possibly of reappearing or possible new one with Beau. No! Jayne....spend the time figuring out Ben, don't be swayed again...He actually has been in the background long before Chase showed up...Remember the Halloween picture from War of the Fae...Ben was in the background way back then!

I don't know how Elle Casey does it but somehow each book just gets better and better! Clash of the Otherworlds picks up immediately right after New World Order (War of the Fae book 4) and doesn't let up until the very last page. I love how each book leaves off in a cliffhanger and not a normal to be continued cliffhanger either but a Lol OMG WTF, My brain will explode unless I get to read the next book cliffhanger. Jayne and all her friends are back but this time around they have to deal with problems on a cosmic scale. New friends and enemies are introduced and Jayne is still nearly clueless when it comes to her abilities and the fae world in which she inhabits although she still manages to kick serious butt. Her language is still just as colorful and having Tim and his family around make it so hilarious. Nothing like a baby pixie going around repeating the one word or words that you don't want him to repeat to brighten your day. This is truly a great book, so good in fact that I went ahead and put off getting the Infernal Devices 3 which comes out in a few days so that I could buy the rest of this series along with the first book in the Apocalypsis series. There's just something infectious about Elle Casey's writing. I'm a fast reader but not usually this fast. I couldn't put this book down and have missed a lot of sleep these last two weeks and I've enjoyed every minute of it. Be sure to read War of the Fae first so you'll know what's going on and enjoy this book even more. You might not get much sleep reading them but you'll have a blast. Once again Elle Casey has outdone herself proving why she has so quickly become one of my favorite all time authors.

One of my many favorite passages from Clash of the Otherworlds Book 1 After the Fall:

"I'll have you know that the fruit of my loins? ... It's passionfruit, baby. Passionfruit"
"More like fruit loops,"

I've never used bookmarks or highlights on my Kindle but some of the stuff being said in this book was just too funny so now I have Mrs. Casey to thank for learning how to use these features :)

After obsessing over the War of the Fae series, the release of Clash of the Otherworlds was at the top of my to-read pile. As I've stated in my previous reviews of Elle Casey's work, Jayne is one of my all-time FAVORITE heroines, and when you have cast-mates like Tim the Pixie, his son Willie, and sexy-moody Ben, it makes for a great time!

*Some SPOILERS from the War of the Fae series*

After the Fall continues directly after the union between Dark and Light Fae. After losing Chase, Jayne is having a tough time coming to terms with her new maybe-romance-maybe-friendship-maybe-nothing relationship with Ben and is constantly comparing her future to her past, which, lets face it, we all do.

The Light and Dark Fae begin moving into a single compound and sharing the same living quarters, classes, and lunch room doesn't seem to be a problem...combining leadership however? Not so much. Jayne isn't feeling the love from the new counsel members, so when problems arise, she attempts to solve them on her own...mostly.

Favorite Parts:

Tim. Always Tim. Hilarious, awkward, and the best of the best of friends.

The Mother and Father room placement. I can just picture these two opposites coming together to form a whole...fire and ice, moon and sun, stillness and life. Love it.

Spider-nakey. FTW.

Overall, this story is a MUST READ! And although I believe that you should continue reading the first in the War of the Fae series, it is possible to pick up After the Fall and not be completely lost. However, I think that this book shows the reflective side of Jayne. She is really just healing from the loss of her mother and man/angel that she loved, so be aware that there's a lot more spunk to come. :)

Thank you, Elle, for a another 5 Star read! And I can't wait to read Clash of the Otherworlds: Between the Realms out NOW!

***2.5 star***
Up until now, I loved everything about the series. Jayne, Tim, Tony (ok probably not Tony), and all of the other secondary characters that I just adored and still do. However, things are starting to repeat itself in this book. I absolutely loved Jayne in the previous books with her constant profound word choice and banter with others, but I've come to realize that's one of her main flaws in her personality. That, and her constant attitude of "I want everything to go my way". Throughout this book Jayne has totally acted like a spoiled brat who doesn't want to take no for an answer and thinks she's entitled to have or know everything that is going on around her. She's still hung up on Chase and whines all the time on how she screws everything up because she doesn't know the rules of the fae, but has people like Grenage (I think that's his name) that are willing to help her. However, instead of using him to her advantage, she's always occupied in 'meetings' throughout the book. It's always meetings meetings meetings and nothing is getting done and questions aren't getting answered.
Also I don't like how the book just ended with no hint of what's going to happen in the next book. It just ended abruptly with even more questions that need to be answered. This whole book was on a plot repeat, but I'm going to stick it out and finish the rest of the series because I already have come this far and I just LOVE reading about TIM!!!

Elle Casey is like the Pied Piper in that she leads us down the path, we don't know where, but we are entranced and follow her regardless of the direction she leads us in. I know it sounds whacky, but seriously she has a way of writing this story with Jayne and her friends, as well as enemies, that will have me hooked until the end of the series!
I think the test of a truly good author is when you want to physically reach out and slap the character to knock some sense into them, and that's what I was feeling with Jayne at one point in this story. She pines for what she can't have, and acts like a brat at times (which is to be expected since she is still a teenager with more responsibility and power than she knows what to do with).
I did find that this one started out a bit slower than the previous books in the series, but it lays groundwork for the next book, and picks up about a quarter of the way into the book. I still enjoyed it and couldn't wait for the next book in the series. I love the addition of new characters, and their roles as they develop, as well as the continuing story of the characters we've already been introduced to. It seriously is a love/hate relationship and that makes the story more realistic (although set in a fantasy) and keeps me coming back for more. Thanks Elle for another great story.

I love this book series! Its the only one I can actually be pulled into . It has romance, action, mystery ,and death ,but mostly sacrifice. I love your books I read them all in a matter of 1 week back to back! I was sad when I found out after book ten it will end. There is so many ways you could expand it I have so many ideas about it and it would be branching off to certain points you never explained! I am not gonna beat around the bush but chase not being able to be with her was a heart struck event it had me in tears! I am a teenage girl who is 14. I am hoping to be a writer some day I have so many pieces I make grand and extravagant stories . my imagination drove me crazy thinking of so many things that would be perfect in your books . I love reading your books I hope you write me back or email me. That would be wonderful . But what i got confused on was in the book where she goes to the underworld on accident she has Tim, and spike . who's possessed by a demon named Lars. I believe lol. But it sounded like in your book when it said she took off running pretty fast sort of like a flint . Like superspeed! Why dont you expand the books by saying she has more ability's . Things we couldn't dare to imagine! I really hope you don't stop writing this series it would be a finomanal!

First up, big kudos to Elle Casey for writing the book numbers on this series, I love how easy it is going to be to go back to the books for re-reads, they are all numbered beautifully! :) I love how neat my kindle looks. This probably seems a bit mad, but it makes such a huge difference. I struggle to keep titles and sequences straight in my brain.

And then second, "awesome is as awesome does." haha a Tim quote and one that sums up my love for this author!!

Another fabulous one in this series, though seriously ugggh Ben!!! He took up a lot of the limelight here, and was really just suss. He is involved with some good twists to the series though, so I can't complain too much.

This one had a lot of sweet moments between Jayne and her friends, I really like the books in this series that are heavy on the friendship, so well written!!

Oh geeze, Tim has a family and the kid is more annoying than his father. Jayne slips back on what I thought was a character development of trying to take the high road. Either she is looking to far into things, or things are not being spelled out as well as they should for the reader. I know that suspense and surprise are a delight in a book, but I can't possibly understand why everything is. Jayne continues as the same old girl who hates anything that is not immediately explained to her. I don't know why she doesn't ask for a book of histories to read or speak with Gregane about things she doesn't know. The elf will always do what she asks because he loves to lecture on knowledge. He's a resource she refuses to use. This story is a little political, and Jayne is pining after Chase the whole time, which is also damaging whatever relationship she might have with Ben. More farting, more breathing, more childish antics that I'm just beginning to skim over because I don't understand the incessant need to throw in comic relief via flatulence. I didn't get it when I was 17 either. Regardless, the story comes to another abrupt ending that lacked finesse and catapults the characters onto book 6 with, of course, a heavy dose of a semicolon not being used correctly.

This is the very first review I've ever taken the time to write for a book (and I read a LOT) so that should definitely tell you how much I loved this one. Every since reading Elle's WOTF (War of the Fae) series, I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this continuation series (and am also eagerly awaiting the final book in her Apocalypsis series).

Honestly, I didn't think it could get any better (though, I had no doubt coming from Elle it would be every bit as great as the rest of her books that I love) but I was wrong. Oh. my. WOW!

It is SO easy to get caught up in the world and characters she creates. You will laugh and cry with them the entire way through, and be doing your best not to fall off the edge of your seat at the same time. I love the strong female leads she casts in her books and the healthy dose of laughter that helps you relate to and easily connect with them while you follow their journey. The only thing I wish, is that she had super-power writing skills to get them out faster, because I just can't get enough! LOL

Thanks for another amazing read, Elle. LOVED it!!

OMG Can I just start this review by saying how much I love Tim. He is one awesome little man. Now that Ive got that written I can move on with this review.
So this book starts off right where the last book ended with the light and dark fae moving into the same compound. With a common enemy the two side must join together if there going to survive. Of course this means a lot of big changes for our favorite girl Jayne. New room, new council members to meet, new challenges to stumble into and most importantly, new mate Ben. Heres also the only part of the story that confused me. I loved that there in no insta-love for the new couple. I mean they've been enemies the last four books so it makes since. And since the book is written from Jaynes POV I knew how she was feeling towards Ben but I felt confused about how Ben was feeling towards Jayne. Like we never get a explanation for Bens mood swings. So I guess what I'm trying to write is that I would have liked some sort of heart to heart talk between the characters to better understand them. Hopefully I'll get a better feel for there relantionship in the next book. Which by the way needs to come out soon.

I was eagerly awaiting this book and picked it up the second it was available on Amazon. It definitely did not disappoint! After I had finished her War Of The Fae series, I was left with a huge hole in my heart where Jayne and her friends should have been. I no longer have to suffer. This series continues right where War Of The Fae left off.

After binding with her nemesis turned ally, Ben, Jayne and her friends are trying to adjust to life with the light and dark fae living and working together to try to figure out how to close a rift in the grey that is allowing creatures from the otherworlds to enter their world. The Jayne/Ben story line is great... in true Jayne style, she is not making it easy on him! I won't give any details, because I hate spoilers, but I will say that awesome new characters emerge and Jayne is becoming even more bad-ass than she was before (how is this even possible?). Tim, her pixie friend with intestinal issues, is hilarious as ever, as is his son. The ending to this book was such a cliffhanger, that I was literally stunned when I reached the end. I totally didn't see it coming!

I am really looking forward to the next book in this series!

I absolutely loved the War of the Fae series and was so excited to see that Elle Casey had written a second series that picked up right where the other left off. I am a 29-year-old mother of three, but I've found that the rebellious teenager inside of me is still able to relate to the main character, Jayne. This book, along with the rest of the series, has just the right mix of laughter, sorrow, romance, and drama.

Something you should know before you buy this book is that Elle Casey loves her some cliffhangers...like at the end of every chapter! Quite often I found myself reading into the early morning hours after a long night of repeating "Ok, just ONE more chapter, than I'll sleep." Nope. It's a page turner!

If you flinch at too much swearing, you *might* end up with a nervous twitch by the end of the series, but it honestly didn't bother me too much. The more engrossed you become in the story, the more you realize that the potty mouth is just part of what makes Jayne such a real and raw character.

BUY IT! READ IT! LOVE IT! And then check out ALL of her other books because I guarantee you'll love them just as much.

The previous books were solid 3 or sometimes 4 stars for me and I liked the series a lot. But now I'm just bored as hell. The plot has started to meander around; I skimmed most of this book from 50-90%. There was a real concise feeling of progression in previous books and in this one it's just...meh. Lots of reaching for crazy plot points, lots of sitting around talking, lots of Jayne being annoying in her head.

And Jayne has turned awful? Why??? Ugh. So disappointing. The whole "woe is me, I'm such a screw up, I don't deserve anything nice" thing can work for a chapter or two, but this has now veered into the realm of bullshit as she is like this the whole book. I am borderline hating this character that I loved so much before. I'm assuming this is some buildup to Jayne blossoming into a badass but I am not sure I even care to witness her become that badass. Maybe I'll skip the next few books and go directly to the last one and hope she becomes worth my time again.

Elle Casey, one of my new favorite authors....

OMG - this book was awesome!! I couldn't put it down - read it in a few hours. I friggin' love Jayne! She is so realistic and awesome, and I swear one of these days the lines between her and Tim are going to make me pee my pants, they are so funny! The action in these books is always non-stop and I feel so bad for her all the time, thinking "Geez, can this girl ever get a break?" it's just one thing after another, but that's what makes them so great! I'm so on the fence about Ben, that it's really the biggest cliffhanger of the whole series for me - I just can't decide if he's good or bad!

Absolutely can't wait for the next one, although I'm not sure which I want first, this or Apocalypsis 4 - both lead females are amazingingly smart, independant and funny. Elle Casey is an amazing writer! Keep 'em coming...fast as you can ;).

Seriously.. I love Elle Casey's writing! After the Fall is a wonderful start to this series. It still has my favouite characters and I still laughed my ass off! Jayne is the most kick ass heroine I've ever read. She is impulsive to a fault and often has to learn the hard way but she tries! But one thing is for sure.. NO ONE will give her any shit! I just purchased the second book, and am rushing to write this review so I can see what's going on. I miss Chase, but can't wait to see how Jayne and Ben's relationship forms from here.

I would HIGHLY recommend this book as well as the previous series.. War of the Fae. They are highly entertaining, enthralling, magical, and a literal riot!
