APOCALYPSIS is a 4-book, YA Post-Apocalyptic series: Book 1, KAHAYATLE; Book 2, WARPAINT; Book 3, EXODUS; Book 4, HAVEN (coming 2013)

EXODUS
My name's Bryn Mathis. I'm seventeen years old, and my world has been turned upside down and inside out. I'm racing towards a future I cannot control.

I thought I had everything worked out, but then things changed. I thought we were all cut off from one another, but it turns out, we're not.

They say people are talking, and word about me and what I've done is spreading like the virus that wiped out millions of people, leaving us teens alone to fend for ourselves. And depending on who you are, and what you eat for dinner, I'm either your salvation or your target.

**Contains violence, some foul language, some drugs, and non-explicit sex scenes. This series is in the DARK SCIENCE FICTION/HORROR/POST-APOCALYPTIC genres, featuring teen characters only. May not be suitable for younger/middle-grade teens.**

This is my favorite of all the books because I couldn't put it down!

I absolutely loved all the action and drama this book had...I found myself many times holding my breath waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I am so addicted to this series!

I loved the changeling series and when I saw this one come out..I was like hmmm..really love Elle's writing so maybe I should try this one too.

Boy am I glad I did! I didn't write a review for the first two which I should!! We continue our journey with Bryn(the loner before the Apocalypse) who continuously makes the hard moral decisions. You are so proud of her making the right choices.

Briefly without giving too much away because reading it for yourself is always better! We are following Bryn who after all the adults and small children die from a virus, is just trying to survive. Since many teenagers do not know how to grow food and take care of their survival, things take a turn for the very worst. Moral boundaries are crossed and the challenges look insurmountable.

Bryn, who was trained by her father in martial arts and survival, begins amassing a rag tag group of teenagers, with this collection of new people, survival is not enough, they want to try and re establish a community. We get no zombies in this version of the apocalypse, but the canners are worse than zombies.

I really don't like love triangles, but Elle does it so realistically that it's hard to find fault with it....I love both the guys, and can see Bryn with either one of them. I loved Paci and in this world, you do have to say what you feel, because who knows what later that day can bring (not even tomorrow). I loved Mr. Bryn too (Bodo), but think I was kinda leaning towards Paci. Not that I wanted anything bad to happen to Bodo. I was so torn, and know that it could be an issue to reappear if Paci makes it to the prison.

I am so glad Elle decided to make a 4th book in this series even though I can't wait for the next series with the war of the fae people in it. I find that I don't want to let people go. I feel like I am missing my friends. You get a pretty satisfying ending in this book (not one of Elle's famous cliffhangers), but there are still many questions that have not been answered. Really, we are so involved in so many people in the book, you want the story to continue.

2.5 STARS

This one was a little better than the second book, less filler and more action. Bryn is still really annoying, I fail to see why everyone looks to her as a leader. I’m invested enough to want to see how it concludes, so on to the last book.

Waterproof cases for Kindles are needed!!!! I think someone should really put some thought into waterproofing Kindles and making body attachments so both hands can be free to multitask if need be... This 3rd book just WOW!!! I just couldn't put it down either just like the first two books!

Having to wait for the next book to come out is just torture and I really hope there will be more books than just 4 because this series is just too awesome to stop! There will be a day of mourning when the series is over... Oh and for the avid readers who just can't seem to put good books down just like me: Anyone who takes their kindle with them in the shower.... Ziplock baggies are a blessing!! Lol

I have a hard time with deciding what book was the worst of the series this one or warpaint. Sadly because of the last scene in that one I have to say this would be the bottom one. This book might not have been as slow for most of it but there just seemed to be something off with it. I didnt feel like the original one in the mood of it. Bryn and Paci seemed really forced and I couldn't see Bryn doing it with Bodo still missing it was just put in there to make a love triangle. Bryn leaving the swamp with the brothers was as well not well right. It seemed just wrong for her character to do that. Then the problem with the Amazon's and Brittney, one was just crazy and that was the whole point of it but it didn't seem like this was the real world maybe that was the point to show far off it was but it just seemed wrong. Not saying this book was horrible, as it introduced some of my favorite characters but this was the first book to set out from the swamp that was such a huge part of the first two that it seemed like I was reading a completely new series, the last book started to remedy it but still throwing it all away seemed off. Ok I didn't say a lot of good things about this book but it did hold me in for it and the next. I'm tied up in the story and want to know how it ends but this book could have done better to say the least.

Edge of Your Seat Read!

Holy crapballs, this series is an emotional rollercoaster! It has survival and self-preservation, fight or flight, the making and struggles of friendships and relationships, fear, anticipation, successes, adrenaline rushes, hardships, gains, losses, action (seriously, my palms were sweating, lol), creativity, strengths, vulnerabilities, ingenuity, characters of all personalities and backgrounds learning and facing challenges beyond their wildest imaginations. All of these scenarios wrapped in love, hate, gratefulness, disgust, humanity, humbleness, remembering to value what and WHO you are and have, sadness, adaptation, desperation, pride and so much more. In addition, there's humor expertly laced throughout each book.

Elle Casey brings heart a soul to each and every one of her characters and books, in all genres, which this series certainly provides. As an author, she evokes endless thought and emotion while entertaining. She makes you think, feel and learn something about yourself through the characters and the situations they face.

If you read the first book, you may as well buy the full series, you'll read them all on the edge of your seat!

Very good read

I have read books 1 through 3 so far and find them to be well written and well thought out, very believable fast paced with characters that could be the kids down the street with all their charms and faults well researched and presented must have been written by some one with kids or was one once.

Exodus Reviewed

I must begin by saying that I like dystopian stories and if you too, then you will like this series. While it is a simple story of good versus evil, the characters deal with their challenges like most teens would. Sometimes they are clever and brave and sometimes they are petty and real.

No punches pulled

I am thoroughly enjoying this series. So many of this genre glosses over the many aspects of human basic needs and requirements of living in an apocalyptic world. Elle gets it right!

I absolutely loved this book. I gotta say I wasn’t really believing the love between Bryn and bodo. I felt more heat between she and paci. But that didn’t deter me from giving a 5 star rating.

Elle Casey has created a most remarkable post-epidemic world, where only teenagers are left to inherit the earth and all the good and bad things that come with that. Our main character, Bryn, is a heroine the likes of Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games) or Clary Fray (City of Bones). She is strong in character, she knows who she is, yet she has flaws, she is just trying to survive in her new reality and do so in line with her morals and conscious. I love sharing this kind of book with young adult (15 yrs. +) women, they need strong role models in literature. I abhor the books that portray women and girls as victims to be saved by big, strong, or smart men while they cower in fear. Bryn will have you loving every "Girl Power" moment, she is fascinating and real.

This third book in the Apocalypsis series is a real game changer. Bryn draws the line in the sand and stands her ground, thereby finding herself on the move and looking for a new safe haven. The dangers are more real than ever, and the reality of the decay of what little of society is left in the wake of the disappearance of any law and order is shocking. True human nature, it seems, has a tendency towards acts of savagery in the pursuit of self preservation. Bryn refuses to let the savages win.

I don't want to hand out a heap of spoilers, just trust that this third novel in the Apocalypsis series is just as riveting as it precedents. An amazing range of issues to ponder, discuss, and digest. You will not be able to put it down, and you will want to share it with everyone you know so that you can all discuss what you are uncovering in these amazing novels. Apocalypsis and its follow-up books are all equally thrilling, edge of your seat, shocking, and riveting. I anxiously await the fourth book in these series, coming soon. Elle Casey has created a series that is relevant, absorbing, and totally new. A great novel for school projects and book reports, or even to be read as a class curriculum item. I am a 40 year old with a Master's Degree and loved them, my 15 year old niece adores them just as much, and that speaks volumes. Snap them up for your Kindle at these amazing prices, or order the hard copies for sharing.

This book is brilliant! I hurried right from book two to book three, and finished the book in a matter of hours. I couldn’t pull myself away, no matter that it is Thanksgiving and I have tons to do. Thanksgiving could wait!

At the end of book two, I was worried about Bodo. He has become one of my favorite characters in this series. I was happy to see that issue resolved… I was a little worried that Elle would make me wait until the end of the series to find out what happened to him, and I probably couldn’t wait until 2013 to know!

I love the friendship that Bryn and Winky have, their personalities are so similar, yet they keep each other grounded. The new characters kept the story fresh, and I always love the way Elle creates her characters. I have no idea how she can make each character’s dialogue, mannerisms, and personalities so unique and different from the others!

I knew it!!! That’s all I’m going to say about Peter and his personal life. This development made me happy! His character is so different from any character in Elle’s books. It’s a wonderful step outside of the norm, and I absolutely ADORE Peter!

The people this group encounter while on their exodus were really interesting. It really gave me a feel for the emotional state of all of the survivors of this virus. It was also heartwarming to see other groups out there that were trying to create a world worth living in, too.

Finally, the “waystation” with Sissy and Jimmy is really starting to be a great thing. I hope these two characters are seen in book four! From the Cracker Barrel, to the Everglades, to a prison; who needs telephones and internet when you have a messaging network like they do!

I honestly couldn’t put this latest book down. When my kindle battery died, I switched to reading it on my computer, then back again when it was charged. I even read while I showered (don’t ask!). It’s really hard to write a review for this book without giving away crucial elements of the story, and I really want everyone to enjoy the book as much as I did without any spoilers.

I have no idea how Elle Casey does it. Every book is a masterpiece. There's never a slow or dull moment nor is there ever a dip in the plot. Usually in most books there's at least a boring passage or two but Mrs. Casey's books never have a dull moment. She can make a simple conversation between friends just as exciting and fun as a big fight scene. In fact some of my favorite moments in her books are just when her characters are interacting, making fun of each other or just eating lunch. The characters are so real and vivid that I find myself missing them when once I've finished a series. I keep forgetting to put this in a review so I'd like to give some major props to the person or persons who does her covers. I always flip to the covers on my Kindle and I've always been amazed at how nice hers are and how realistic they look. That's some major talent.

After the events in Warpaint I knew Bryn was about to come to a huge turning point in her life. She's just too natural of a leader who is a good person and wants to do something to change the world and isn't afraid to defend those she cares about. She also refuses to turn away those who are in need. Whether she knows it or not she's becoming a symbol of hope for so many people. I'm a little disappointed in a few characters because of their actions but the series isn't over yet and there's no telling what will happen. I can't really think of any way I can talk about any of the characters without ruining something at this point so I'm just going to recommend that if you've read the previous two books in Apocalypsis then you really need to read this one. Each book just gets better and better and the characters grow on you more and more as you go. I'm only sad that it is all going to end next book. I'd be happy reading a few dozen books on all of these rich characters. I'm so glad I read the Changelings and found this author. To think that I may have somehow missed this awesome series is crazy. This book is just another reason why Elle Casey is my favorite author.

I've been sitting on this review for a bit with no clue on how to write it. First how can I properly express just how good this book is without any spoilers? And second, I'm still in my OMG! OMG! OMG! phase. I have been turned into a squealing teenager and rendered speechless.

This book is simply amazing. I gave both book 1 and 2 of the Apocalypsis series 5 stars and am left feeling that am not doing Exodus justice by also giving it 5 stars. Not that the first two books weren't good, it's simply that in Exodus Casey took this series to a whole other level. I was tempted to create a new rating system just because of this book.

Exudos was amazing. It was action packed, hilarious and impossible to put down. The plot was completely unexpected. What I expected never happened. This not only led to countless grip-your-seat-from-the-excitement type of scenes, but it also led to unforeseen suspense, romance where you never expected to find it and an overall roller coaster type of experience.

Casey did all of this while still maintaining the essence of her characters, adding an awesome array of new ones and setting the stage for what is bound to be an amazing finale. This book went beyond any of my expectations and I apologize for my lack of a detailed review. I promise to add more to this once I find my words.

Casey, you outdid yourself with Exodus. This is a great series and I am dying to get my hands on the final installment, Haven .

Miccosukee and Creek Native American's are some of the best looking and kindest in the Everglades also the most stubborn ones you'll come across in this Post-Apocalyptic world. Bryn upset over the loss of Bodo needs to find out one way or the other and then word comes that there are kids at the landing and they are asking for Bryn. Trip of course says he is going and he will take care of everything. In Bryns mind that means he is going to chase them away. So in Bryn's still she challenges him and as always she goes with him along with a few others. It's the twins and in Bryn style she has to jump in the river to prove her point wound and all. They bring both guys back to the village and Kowi and Trip the Chief's need the night to think it over if they will let the two new guys stay. In Bryns mind what is there to think over! They are two good people nothing to think about. She wasn't ready for they're decision. NO! They can't stay there is no need for Bryn to make a tie breaking decision both Chiefs agreed. Bryn can't believe this. She is outraged. If they go She goes and that's the end of that. She thinks if she puts it like that they will let the two new guys stay but NO they let them all go and more! But first they must find Bodo. That is the first stop of many in this tale for Bryn and Peter. I love this story. I think about this story even when I can't be reading like when I'm driving I'm wondering what is going on. I can't wait to get back to it. Great writing Great read. A must to put on your reading list.

OK...Wowsie! I want to do this review justice, without being wishy washy at the same time. I feel the pressure after sharing my views with Elle. First of all amazing character development again! Elle always has the best characters that provoke both good and bad emotions. For an author all emotions are good though. I have to admit, I went into this book cheering on Paci. lol.

I loved one conversation in this book between LaShay and a few others. She hit the nail on the head (I don't normally like cliches). Thanks Elle for taking my words into consideration!

This book is incredibly original, moved along beautifully. I was booing and cheering throughout. I didn't like some of the decisions, but amazing how Elle spun the story just like real life. We might not like all changes but some just are for the betterment of our life and the lives affected by ours. Awesome book! Cliffhanger is slight enough for me to be satisfied and able to hold on until 2013 but strong enough for me to want to hold on.

An additional note that I don't want to ignore. I love how it's the girls in this book that take control. They lead in compassionately yet with thought and intelect. The guys didn't take a backseat out of weakness but the way that story unfolded, it just so happened to be the girls that had to take the lead and they did brilliantly and bravely.

Once again I loved the cover.

I can not believe how phenomenal this book is. It is book 3, you expect book 3 to lose some umph, but no, Exodus does not! In this book, Bryn chooses to leave the "safety" of the tribe because she stays true to her character! Kowi and Trip refuse to accept some outsiders. Bryn can't believe it, so she stands true and leaves her "home" This is the story of her travelling with her family to a new home- a prison. Elle Casey once again keeps you intrigued throughout. I read this book in three days. I didn't want to put it down. I immediately bought book 4 "Haven" and am already 75% done. I can not recommend this series more. Bryn is an amazing character and her cohorts are just as amazing. I absolutely love that Peter has found a "position" that is worthy of his character. I have to admit, the whole Amazon thing, was a little strange, but as you read on, it fit into the whole story line and I give nothing but kudos to Ms. Casey for giving us these characters. I hope that they come back and help Bryn in Haven. Kinda want to know if Alejandro is still happy in his "position"

WOAH... WAIT A MINUTE!!!!

this is the first book to mention this takes place ON the EAST SIDE of the everglades??? OMFG I had sort of assumed it took place around ft meyers.. and the group traveled down i-75.....

SO THIS MEANS......................
they either came down the Florida turnpike or route 27 from the Orlando area....

which means... they came VERY VERY VERY close to where I am currently living. sobering thought when it comes to the speculative fiction genre I have been reading alot of as of late...

perhaps I should of googled miccosukee earlier, but i didn't want to 'spoil anything'

THIS MEANS!!!!! they traveled down (perhaps) 1/3 of a chance the SAME route Bodo came north on from West Palm Beach... why didnt he say anything?? questions are building as to his elusiveness and past..

Spoilers ahead...

If you questioned Bryn's character up until now, look no further. Bryn, devastated over Bodo being missing, prepares to leave on a mission to find him, with Winky as her partner. But when Kowi and Trip decide a pair of newcomers aren't welcome, Bryn, Peter and a few others pack up and leave. She doesn't believe in denying good people safety and won't live like that in a world full of cannibals.

There are new characters and old characters well developed in this story. Bryn and her group find Bodo and make their way to a prison, hoping it will be a forever home. When they get there, they have a lot of work to do, and old characters show up to live in Haven.

Exodus was phenomenal. It's jam packed with action and drama. Bryn and Bodo are on the rocks and Bryn feels the weight of being in charge. Peter misses Trip. And, we finally learn more about the virus.

These keep getting better

Some moments are so heartbreaking, others so funny you sit there and laugh. It's about making things beyond the odds.

If you found this through BookBid.com or something, go back and read Book 1 & 2 first because you'll never understand the story. You need to start at our trio's beginning.

I can't believe how our trio has grown since book 1... I can't tell you anything on the story, I'm sure someone else has, but anything would be a spoiler....

Love the flow of the story, it's held my interest from the beginning. There's one more book. And she probably could've got a couple more than that. It's a story about strength and perseverance and believing in yourself.

You have action, and a bit of what will happen.... The characters are believable and involved, as you fall into their world. This one didn't have a cliffhanger like Book 1 and 2.
